The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect is used to illustrate part of chaos theory. It refers to the idea that something really tiny can cause something really big (in technical terms the sensitive dependence on initial conditions). "Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?" was the title of a talk on chaos theory and it kinda stuck.

My interpretation of all this would be that something as tiny as a smile or seeing a butterfly can make someone's whole day brighter.
