Yes, I'm going rather fast...
but who am I to say "no" when inspiration knocks on my door?  Anyway, February is in Germany usually the month when the carnival is. My parents and I both dislike the way these festivities are conducted, but the Venetian carnival with its elegant masks is kinda okay - especially since my parents were in Venice last year And what am I supposed to do for February anyway?  Thanks to =Nico1 who gave me one of his wonderful Venetian Masks as well as a big  to `dholms over at =resurgere for my faveourite textures ever (who would've guessed? )EDIT: I added some hints of pink to the left part (probably hardly noticable, but it feels better that way) and tried to add some more textures to incorporate the mask more - however, it wouldn't let me add too many without looking improvised (or whichever word I was looking for). Thanks =mynti and `bonbon for the suggestions |

Only one comment, though. Carnival technically is the same date in all countries (only some exceptions fail to follow that), and not always in February... It's suppossed to be celebrated forty days before Easter, and the date of Easter varies with the year as it's related to the Moon... Not that it matters, actually, and as a matter of fact next year it does happen in February

it's all about simple, honest words...
I know that it's 40 days before easter - the point was that German carnival is no longer a festival celebrated to drive winter out and preceed the fast, but to get drunk wearing silly costumes... I so hate that
